Trains arriving from Kraków terminate here, and there is something quietly fitting about the fact that the tracks simply stop and the mountains begin almost immediately afterward. The building itself is modest, with the usual ticket counters and a small waiting area, and it rarely takes more than a few minutes to pass through it on arrival or departure. Taxis wait just outside for travellers who would rather not walk with luggage, and the centre of town is close enough that most people manage the walk without much trouble, following gently downhill streets towards Krupówki. Trains from Kraków run at a reasonable pace and are generally a comfortable, scenic way to arrive, watching the landscape shift from flat farmland into rolling foothills as you go. It is a practical place rather than an attraction in itself, mostly useful as a marker for planning your journey in or out of Zakopane.
