Zakopane Bus Station
The bus station sits on the eastern side of town, right beside the railway station, and it is where the great majority of travellers coming from Kraków first set foot in Zakopane. It is a fairly ordinary functional building, with ticket windows, a few small kiosks and a covered area where buses pull in and out throughout the day, so do not expect much charm from the place itself. From here it is roughly a ten to fifteen minute walk downhill towards Krupówki, an easy stretch that gives you your first proper look at the town as the mountains come into view ahead. This is also the departure point for many of the minibuses heading out to trailheads such as Morskie Oko, so it is worth remembering even after you have already checked into your accommodation. Taxis usually wait nearby for anyone carrying heavy luggage or arriving late in the evening when the walk feels less appealing.
