Parking, Kuźnice

Sitting right at the edge of the national park, this is the closest formal parking area to the trailheads and the cable car station at Kuźnice, which makes it the natural choice for anyone driving in to start a hike. On good weather days, especially in summer and during ski season, it fills up remarkably early, sometimes before eight in the morning, and latecomers can end up circling or parking much further away than they hoped. Because of that, plenty of experienced visitors choose to leave the car in town instead and take a bus or taxi up to Kuźnice, which avoids the whole problem and is often not much slower once you account for the search for a space. The road up from town climbs steadily and gives a nice preview of the mountains ahead, so even the drive itself has some appeal. It is a purely functional spot rather than a destination, useful mainly as a starting point for the day's actual plans.
