Gubałówka Funicular
The lower station is only a couple of minutes' walk from the top of Krupówki, so it is very easy to fold into a wander through town. The carriages climb at a genuinely steep angle, and the view opens up behind you gradually as you rise, which somehow feels more dramatic than arriving by car or on foot. It is a novelty in itself for children, who tend to enjoy the ride almost as much as the view at the top. On busy summer days and weekends the queue can stretch a fair way down the street, and waiting an hour just to go up is not unheard of. If that happens, the walking path up the hillside beside the tracks is a genuine alternative, free and honestly quite pleasant if you are not in a rush, though it does take real effort. Either way you end up at the same spectacular ridge, so choosing between them mostly comes down to how much patience or energy you have on the day.
