Butorowy Wierch

Butorowy Wierch

A gentle ridge walk heading west from Gubałówka brings you here in well under an hour, following an easy path along the top of the hill with the view opening up gradually the whole way. What you find at the end is essentially the same sweeping panorama of the Tatra range that draws crowds to Gubałówka itself, but with a fraction of the people, since most visitors never bother walking the extra distance. There is usually a chairlift running down from here as well, which means you do not necessarily have to retrace your steps if your legs have had enough. In summer the meadows along the ridge are full of wildflowers, and the whole walk has a relaxed, almost pastoral feel that contrasts nicely with the busier tourist infrastructure back at the main viewpoint. It is a good choice for anyone who enjoyed Gubałówka but found it too crowded, or for photographers hoping to get a clean shot of the mountains without dozens of strangers wandering into frame.
